Turning vision into strategy—and strategy into style

With over a decade of experience in branding, strategy, and design, I’ve worn many hats—and learned how to lead with clarity, creativity, and purpose. I don’t just make things look good—I make sure they work.

I bridge the gap between big-picture vision, smart strategy, streamlined process, and high-quality execution. Whether I’m launching a brand or building the system behind it, I’m the one people call when they need a secret weapon.

CREATIVE DIRECTION SKILLS

My approach to leading creative work—and the people behind it.

  • From brand foundations to campaign rollouts, I lead with big-picture thinking and sharp creative instincts. I know how to craft a central idea that inspires designers, connects with audiences, and drives results.

Whether developing a concept from scratch or jumping in midstream, I bring clarity to the chaos and help teams rally around the why behind the work.

  • I’ve led creative teams, mentored junior designers, and guided projects from brainstorm to launch—but I thrive most with small, connected teams where I can truly invest in people. My leadership style is collaborative, empathetic, and grounded in real experience—I know what it’s like to be in the trenches, and I lead with that understanding. I work to create a creative environment people want to be in, where ideas are heard, boundaries are respected, and growth is encouraged. My goal isn’t just to manage—but to help creatives develop their skills, deepen their passion, and grow into their next level.

  • I’ve managed projects with moving parts, shifting deadlines, and multiple stakeholders—and I still sleep at night. I build timelines, manage scope, and keep things moving without losing the creative spark. I balance structure with flexibility, ensuring that teams stay on track and inspired.

  • A solid brief is everything. I know how to write and refine briefs that inspire focused creative work—clear enough to guide, open enough to spark ideas. I also know how to run kickoffs, set direction, and adjust course without derailing the team.

  • I’ve worked with everyone from solo founders to execs at major brands—and I know how to talk to all of them. I guide clients through creative processes with clarity, confidence, and strategy. I translate feedback into action, present ideas with intention, and build trust through every interaction.

  • I freaking love systems. I believe they’re the key to getting great creative work done—smoothly, efficiently, and without unnecessary chaos. I’ve built workflows, naming systems, file structures, and feedback loops that keep teams aligned and projects on track. In my experience, this is where most creative teams hit friction—and it’s one of the first things I work to solve. Because when the back-end runs clean, the front-end shines.

  • Design doesn’t happen in a vacuum. I’ve collaborated with developers, copywriters, strategists, producers, and marketing leads—and I know how to connect the dots. I speak multiple “languages” across departments, helping translate ideas into deliverables that actually work across disciplines.

  • Whether it’s a brand workshop or a discovery session, I know how to create space for alignment and insight. I guide teams and clients through processes that uncover truth, reveal direction, and set creative up for success. I bring the post-its and the strategy.

TECHNICAL & CREATIVE SKILLS

Skills that help me lead from experience.

  • I’ve helped shape brands across the board—from mom-and-pop shops to Fortune 500s. Whether it’s a full visual overhaul or a refresh of existing guidelines, I build brand systems that connect story, strategy, and style. From logos to collateral to rollout strategy, I understand how to bring a brand to life and keep it consistent across platforms. That hands-on experience allows me to confidently lead teams through the branding process with clarity and creativity.

  • From Squarespace to custom-coded builds, I’ve worked on websites across industries—from scrappy startups to big players like Aflac and Costa Coffee. My background in UX, responsive design, and SEO means I don’t just design beautiful sites—I design smart ones. I also have enough light dev experience to speak the language of developers, ensuring smoother collaboration and better outcomes. That fluency helps me guide design teams toward solutions that balance aesthetics and functionality.

  • I’ve worked on strategic campaigns for household names like Starbucks, Pantene, Coca-Cola, and Aflac—spanning everything from social media creative to large-scale commercial shoots. I’ve contributed at every level: concept, copy, visuals, and rollout. That breadth gives me a strong understanding of how to bring a campaign to life across multiple touchpoints—and lead others through it, from pitch to execution.

  • As a storyteller at heart, I love bringing creative to life through movement. I’ve storyboarded, art directed, and even animated when needed—enough to understand timing, flow, and what makes motion work. While I’m not a full-time animator, my experience helps me communicate clearly with motion teams, guide the creative, and ensure that the final product delivers both impact and emotion.

  • I’ve led shoots for product launches, lifestyle campaigns, headshots, brand visuals, music videos, and indie films. Whether behind the camera or directing from the monitor, I know how to shape a visual story. I’ve worked as a DP, understand lighting, sets, and scene composition, and love building out creative direction for photo/video content. My experience lets me lead visual teams with confidence—because I’ve done the work myself.

  • Storytelling is my foundation—and writing has always been a core part of how I communicate. From campaign headlines to video scripts, I know how to speak to an audience with intention. I’ve written across formats and platforms, from ad copy to shoot scripts to full brand voice guidelines. I’m also great at using tools like ChatGPT to brainstorm, iterate, and push ideas further—making me a flexible and collaborative partner for any content-heavy project.

CAREER HIGHLIGHTS

I’ve been around. (Creatively, of course.)

Freelance, in-house, agency life, and everywhere in between.

I’ve built a creative career rooted in flexibility, strategy, and strong execution. I’ve led, collaborated, and delivered across industries, team structures, and creative scopes—and every project has shaped how I lead today.

  • Led a small creative team as Art Director at The Weather Channel, overseeing branded content, campaigns, and internal initiatives.

  • Worked as a freelance Art Director and Creative Director for multiple Atlanta-based studios—gaining firsthand experience across vastly different teams, workflows, and creative challenges.

  • Built and ran Buildable Brand, a creative studio helping entrepreneurs and founders launch high-impact, strategy-driven brands from the ground up.

  • Directed creative and campaign work for global brands including Disney, Toyota, Porsche, DreamWorks, AT&T, Marriott Hotels, the Atlanta Hawks, Starbucks, Pantene, Coca-Cola, Aflac, Costa Coffee, and more—bridging storytelling, strategy, and design across platforms.

  • Held in-house Director roles at multiple companies—leading small creative teams, shaping brand systems, and delivering high-level work across campaigns and internal initiatives.

MY PHILOSOPHY

Make great creative. Go home sane.

I didn’t choose a creative career just to burn out—I chose it because I love to create. I love bringing ideas to life and working with a team that feels like family.

I’ve seen what happens when creatives are treated like machines, when leadership is disconnected, and when the work suffers because the people aren’t protected. I never want to be that kind of leader.

To me, creative direction is about balance: vision and process, inspiration and structure, great work and a healthy team. I have three core responsibilities—and I take all of them seriously.

Great work starts with strong relationships. I focus on three.

Creative Team

My job isn’t just to manage—it’s to build and lead an unstoppable team of creatives. I create space for people to do what they love, feel supported, go home sane, and actually want to come back the next day. I’m the ringleader, the cheerleader, and the shield.

The Agency

Creative shouldn’t be the mystery department. I help bridge the gap between account, client, and creative—bringing structure, strategy, and systems that make the whole agency run smoother and deliver better.

The Client

My job is to deliver creative that works—strategic, stylish, and built to solve the real problem. I help clients feel heard, understood, and proud of the final product. When we do it right, the work speaks for itself.

Why I’m Open to the Right Role

Running my own studio taught me so much. I got a front-row seat to the business side of entrepreneurship. But when you’re wearing every hat—CEO, project manager, admin, sales—it’s easy to get pulled away from what you love most: the creative. The collaboration. The team.

Now, I’m ready to refocus where I’m strongest: leading creative, building with a team, and helping good work happen faster, smarter, and with heart.

I’m not walking away from what I’ve built—I’m bringing it with me, and channeling it into something bigger than myself.

(And maybe now I can finally spend more time on passion projects and less time meeting with accountants.)

Who I Work Best With

I’m like a houseplant—I thrive in the right environment, which usually looks like a place that:

  • Values strategy and style

  • Respects boundaries, timelines, and people

  • Communicates clearly, honestly, and with care

  • Sees creatives as collaborators, not tools

  • Believes great work takes trust, not micromanagement

  • Knows how to have fun—even on deadline

  • Understands that creativity thrives in safe, supportive spaces

That’s gonna be a “no” for me…

Do I like a challenge? Absolutely. But creative chaos with no boundaries? Let’s just save ourselves the awkward “it’s not you, it’s me” conversation.

  • Micromanagers and power hoarders

  • Creative teams run by non-creatives (lookin’ at you, account directors giving design feedback)

  • Environments where creatives are treated like production machines

  • Leaders who talk about change but never actually do anything

  • Agencies that preach work-life balance—but reward burnout instead

  • “The client is always right” energy (no thanks)

  • Culture-first agencies with cold brew on tap but no boundaries in sight

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Skip the Interview

Let’s get the basics out the way so we can skip to the good stuff.

  • I’m looking for a role where I can lead with clarity, create with purpose, and be part of a team that feels like a team. Somewhere that values creative direction, respects the process, and gives the work room to breathe. I want to build things that matter—with people who care.

  • It all starts with a clear vision and well-defined goals—articulated clearly to both the team and the client. From there, it’s about setting strong expectations, creating space for exploration, and protecting the time it takes to make really good work—not just putting out fires. For me, great creative direction leads to work that’s not only strategic, but memorable.

  • Yes—and no. I’ve still got the skills and can definitely flex when needed. But my real strength is leading the vision, giving sharp, actionable feedback, and knowing when to jump in—and when to step back.

If I need to handle something solo, I absolutely can. But I believe in building strong teams for a reason: so everyone can do what they do best, and I can keep the bird’s-eye view that makes the whole thing run smoother.

  • My brain—strongest tool there is.

But if we’re being literal: Adobe CC (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, Premiere, After Effects), Canva, Keynote, Google Slides, Midjourney, ChatGPT, pen and paper, and yes—I can open email attachments.

I’ve been a creative and a business owner for years. Trust me—I can use the computer. 😌

  • People who like what they do—whatever it is. People who are curious, collaborative, and want to have a good time while making great work. I vibe with people who communicate, challenge each other, give honest feedback, and still laugh in between.

I’m not into one-uppers, passive-aggressive vibes, or that weird competitive energy. It’s not that serious, dude. I just want to make great stuff with good people and keep it moving.

  • First: I breathe. Then I break it down. I look at what’s actually urgent, what’s just loud, and what’s going to move the needle. From there, I set clear priorities, communicate openly with the team, and make sure everyone knows what matters right now.

I’ve worn enough hats to know when to push, when to pause, and when to say, “This can wait.” My job is to keep things moving without burning out the team—or myself.

  • By starting with the “why.” Every concept, every visual, every detail has to ladder up to a real goal—otherwise, we’re just making things pretty. I believe the best creative solves a problem and sparks a feeling. It should connect emotionally, strategically, and visually.

I ask the right questions up front, align early, and then protect the creative process so it can thrive within those boundaries—not in spite of them.

  • I believe clear communication is everything. I ask questions. I dig deeper. I hash things out. Whether it's creative direction, feedback, or conflict—I don’t believe in guessing games. If something's vague, we clarify. If there’s tension, we clear the air. The goal isn’t to be perfect—it’s to stay aligned.

I also know that everyone communicates differently, so I pay attention and adjust. A story only matters if the person hearing it understands it. My job is to make sure the message lands—inside the team, with the client, and in the work.

Like Speed Dating, but Less Cringy.

I’m way more than just a creative director—I’m a millennial with maybe too many hobbies, a chaotic-shuffle Spotify playlist, and a mild obsession with living in main character energy. Here’s a peek at Alexandria, the real person—because honestly, that’s who you’re hiring.

    • 35. Don’t let the baby face fool you—I’ve been doing this for over a decade.

    • All hail to the queen 👑

    • I currently live 1.5 hours from Atlanta, in one of the quaint suburbs. But I’m planning to move to Austin by the summer to experience that Texas heat!

  • I live with my husband—who’s been my ride or die since I was 19 and is, objectively, the most handsome man on Earth—and our two ridiculously beautiful Maine Coon cats who fully believe they run the house.

I’m either in full cozy homebody mode playing videogames in bed until 1am, or out on a random Tuesday finding something to get into. There is no middle ground. I’m either turned all the way up or all the way down—but I’m always doing something.

  • What do I do for fun? Honestly, what don’t I do might be the shorter list. My husband turned me into a two-hour-a-day gym rat (pray for me), and we dance together—currently working on opening our own studio. I sew my own clothes, geek out over fashion and beauty, and yes—I’m an OG anime and video game fan. I’m talking Toonami at midnight, digging through bookstores when there were only four manga titles, and collecting every major gaming console in existence.

I write (currently working on my own anime), I cook like it’s a love language, and I’m learning graffiti and developing my own handstyle. I shoot photo and video, obsess over interior design, and live for traveling and discovering new places. To me, life is art—and as a 35-year-old with no kids, I take it as my duty to live this life to the absolute fullest.

  • People are usually surprised by how often I change my hair—I can look like three different people in one week (Black girl magic, obviously). I see the world in connected stories, always chasing the deeper meaning. I’m a down-the-rabbit-hole kind of thinker who loves big conversations and uncovering the hidden threads most people miss. My schedule might look wild from the outside, but I prioritize rest just as much as I prioritize creativity. That balance is what keeps me grounded and inspired.

Oh, and I LOVE me a dad joke!

  • I just really want to enjoy my life. Work is a part of it, but honestly? Not the most important part. Don’t get me wrong—I love what I do. But life is about who I am, the impact I leave, and the experiences and relationships I build along the way.

That’s probably why I’m so good at what I do. I try to live fully—and that perspective gets poured back into the work and how I lead. I’m both chill and adventurous. I want to do everything, and also… nothing. My vibe is reading the moment and giving myself what I need: flexibility, curiosity, flow. My faith grounds me, keeps me centered, and reminds me that I’m part of something bigger. It shows up in how I move, how I treat people, and how I hold space for what matters.

  • I wanted to live in Japan and make video games—specifically, the cinematic cut scenes that made me cry as a kid playing Kingdom Hearts. I dreamed of merging my love of storytelling, music videos, and beautiful graphics into something that would move people the way those games moved me.

I even minored in Japanese and studied abroad one summer, chasing that dream as far as I could at the time. I didn’t quite become a game developer (yet)—but I still love all the same things I did back then.

And now? My sister lives in Japan and works in the gaming industry… so honestly, I think I still kinda won. 😌
